The Legend of the White Lady (ghost)

It is said that the lady, dressed in a long white, silk dress, her hair is covered by a white veil, like a bride. The only noise that she makes is the noise her dress makes as she walks. When she wonders the halls of the castle the legend says that it is time for someone in the royal family to die.

Princess Eugenie is one of the people to have met her. Her story is told in Father Carl Bernhard Wadströms book. The year was 1871, she had spent the night with her mother and they had spoken about queen Louise of the Netherlands that at the time was the queen of Sweden. Louise was very sick but was getting better. Eugenie wanted to see how Louise was doing, so they decided to visit the king and queen.

When they came up to their floor Eugenie saw a woman in a white silk dress standing there. She thaught that it was one of the servants. The woman in white looked at Eugenie and just blinked. Eugenies mother just walked ast without greeting the woman, which I thought was weird, although, she didn't think too much about it. Thereafter, when they came into the next room she asked her mother why she didn't greet the woman, the mother answered "Which woman?". Then the mother realised who it was and the next day, they both saw her and that night queen Louise died.

At several different occasions when swedish royalty have died, the whithe lady has been spotted wandering the halls of the castle. There are some theories to who she is. Although, nobody knows for sure...
